Three generations of the Murray family have come from the rich loam of the Mississippi River to the gravelly soil of the Dry Creek Valley to craft Flambeaux—limited production artisan wine celebrating the rich diversity of Sonoma County, California terroirs. With the wine Ryan crafts, from his experience at William Selyem, Copain, Medlock Ames and now the Associate Winemaker at Three Sticks as well, he brings a diverse and developed wine style sure to express the full qualities of each unique terroir.

Making great wine truly takes a village, and we are excited to have Flambeaux included in our collection of wines at Region. The phrase better together couldn’t be defined any better with a team that is invigorating and so much fun to work with. From the spirit of their family and character in their wine, matched with their dedication and drive we are in for quite an adventure together.

2017 Estate Zinfandel


The Flambeaux Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley is in the sweet spot for vineyard elevation – about 350 ft. above the valley floor. The Zinfandel is grown in terraced rows on the steep hillside that helps drain away both excess water and cold air, naturally aiding in keeping the vineyard safe from frost. The hillside’s thinner soils help regulate the sometimes abundant Zinfandel, producing fruit that is concentrated and full of a natural richness. 


2016 Cabernet Sauvignon


The soils are the Boomer Loam series which is a Metamorphic soil and our area has the redder, more iron rich soils. This soil type is especially good with Cabernet Sauvignon grapevines and leads to great minerality and natural acidity. The rolling hillside provides great drainage and being up the hill from the valley allows the vineyard to stay a bit warmer – perfect for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon.
