Bucher Wines


After graduating from UC Davis in 1984, John Bucher returned to Healdsburg to manage the family dairy operation, Bucher Farms, eventually transitioning the herd to an organic dairy farm. John continued on his parent’s path of growing the dairy herd, while also looking for opportunities to diversify to higher-value crops to stay economically sustainable. In 1997 John planted the first Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir blocks for Bucher Farms. Additional plantings of Pinot Noir and eventually Chardonnay followed and today, Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir grapes are sold to several notable Sonoma County wineries, including Williams Selyem, Siduri Wines, Papapietro Perry, Kosta Brown, C. Donatiello, and others.

With the 2011 harvest, John and his wife Diane, along with help from their children, crushed their first grapes for Bucher Wines. As a working dairy, farm, and vineyard, it is truly a family affair. Their children Elizabeth, Hannah, Jack, and Tony Klisura are the third generation of Buchers to work on this family farm. We are honored and proud to feature their wines at Region.

2017 Pinot Noir


Classic Pinot aromatics of subtle dark berries mingle with hints of tea, autumn spices, and violet. The palate offers mouthwatering acidity around a focused core of restrained dark red fruit—black cherry, black raspberry, cranberry, rhubarb, plum, and pomegranate. Near the lingering finish, fine-grained oak joins traces of rose petal, cloves, and vanilla, adding depth and dimension to this lovely wine.


2019 Sonoma Rossa Red Blend


This stylish Zinfandel-based blend offers enticing, fragrant aromatics of ripe juicy raspberry merged with blackberry, spicy pepper, and notes of oak. The velvety entry showcases the fruit-forward flavors balanced with bright acidity. Vine-ripened black raspberry fused with traces of spice and vanillin oak expands across the palate as the wine’s refined essence lingers on the finish.
